About JOY Group

My Little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
1 John 3:18

In an effort to have continual fellowship with those 55 or older both within and outside of our congregation, the JOY Group has many activities and events throughout the year. Every first Thursday of the month those 55 or older are invited to attend a covered-dish dinner in the Family Life Center. During these dinners, various activities occur such as entertainment, games, and informative speakers. The JOY Group occasionally has prayer breakfasts in place of the fellowship dinners.

Trips to various locations take place once each month. Venues include: Restaurants, Museums, Shows, Singings, and many more. An overnight trip is scheduled once per year; however, most trips are planned close to Greeneville so those attending can return home by evening.

The only requirement to attend JOY Group activities is that you are 55 or older. You do not have to attend Greeneville First Church of God.

Seniors Pastor John Deyton is the leader of the JOY Group.

JOY Group is for individuals 55 or older, who are interested in having fellowship with those of the same age. They meet the first Thursday of each month for a covered-dish dinner and travel once per month to various locations and events.
